Finishing Point: Arboretum Home and Garden Heaven, Old Kilkenny Road, (R448, Exit 6 - off M9

Time: 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.

This excursion starts on the outskirts of Carlow town, visiting the sixteen interconnecting gardens of Delta Sensory Gardens before travelling to Duckett’s Grove Historic House and Walled Gardens, an iconic landmark on the Carlow landscape. From there continue to Altamont Gardens, an enchanting blend of formal and informal gardens covering 40 acres, followed by lunch at the award-winning Rachel’s Garden Café at Arboretum Home and Garden Heaven, a self- and assisted-service restaurant which champions Irish and locally sourced produce.
